What is a healthy substitute for vegetable oil in baking recipes?

I am aware that applesauce is a good substitute, but the problem is that I'm allergic to apples! Any suggestions? What is a healthy substitute for vegetable oil in baking recipes?
you can try pumpkin now that it is fall, also bananasWhat is a healthy substitute for vegetable oil in baking recipes?
Banana is the healthiest or pumpkin coconut oil is high fat do a little digging through your grocery store import isle and see what they have on hand avoid heavy scented oils as they will ruin the flavor of what ever you are baking. DO NOT USE OLIVE OIL IN BAKING SWEETS.

You can use it in bread though, but be carefull as it does have a heavy taste to it.
I am very health conscious too. I have tried olive oil, it tastes different, so I use grapeseed oil now, it is less intense than olive oil, and is the latest ';new'; discovery as a healthier oil. I also use the new Smart Balance buttery stick for cooking, makes me feel less guilty while enjoying my cookies and cakes. :)
You could try coconut oil, just make sure it's one that doesn't have coconut flavour. Or else try margarine, depending on the recipe.

The website below says you can also use other pureed fruit, (bananas %26amp; prunes) but to add a bit of milk with it. Also says plain yogurt, but that might change the taste a bit...

You can pretty much use other types of oils too, olive oil is always a good choice.
Sometimes i use this site!!
Some oils are better than others. Canola oil is a healthy alternative to corn oil in baking.

Olive oil is also good for cooking(but tastes funny in baked goods)
I don't think anything really takes the place of oil. You could try to use a healthier oil like a very light olive oil or corn oil instead of just plain vegetable oil.
Oil with Omega 3 and DHA is now available -
canola oil
prune puree is a possibility (simmer prunes in water to cover until swelled up and tender, then mash)
I use olive oil.
