Can you substitute vegetable oil for olive oil in recieipes?

I don't want to pay $5 for a bottle of olive oil. Can i just use the vegetable oil i already have? Its for a pizza. Can you substitute vegetable oil for olive oil in recieipes?
I love that you posted this AT the grocery! Too funny and a great way to use this site.

Buy the olive oil - it's better for this recipe and better for your health anyhow.

For the five bucks - you could try singing in front of the store for tips. If the store management gets mad you can always tell them you'll stop if they give you the olive oil. :)Can you substitute vegetable oil for olive oil in recieipes?
sure you can... you just wont get that olive oil taste.. ive done it before in a pinch when i ran out of olive oil
Yes just not the other way around
sure i have 5.00!!
I like vegetable oil better than olive oil. I do not like the taste of olive oil, and yes to the Q. Anytime.
sure can! you'll just wont get that flavor from the olive oil.
You can, but it won't have the good, nutty flavor that olive oil has. Invest in it; it's worth it. You can substitute vegetable oil for olive oil, but you can NOT usually substitute olive oil for things you'd use vegetable oil in (like baking)
You can but olive oil will taste MUCH BETTER. It's worth it, believe me.
Yes you can, it just will not have that olive taste.
