What is mixed with vegetable oil to thin it to create a diesel replacement?

I can not relocate my information of what is supposed to be mixed with waste vegetable oil to thin it to diesel viscosity. I had it but lost it when I changed rooms (I'm a science teacher). Can anyone here help with that? What is mixed with vegetable oil to thin it to create a diesel replacement?
you can't mix anything with. If you want to run a diesel engine on straight used veggie oil, you have to heat the oil until it has a low enough viscosity AND most important that it will not solidify in the fuel lines. This is called a greaser engine and it is not a good way of doing bio diesel.

If you do not start your car and warm up the engine and the used veggie oil, it could solidify or not pump into the engine. When this happens, you are walking until you take the fuel system apart and get the solidified or thick veggie oil out.

To make real bio diesel, you'll need to cook veggie oil with a mixture of CH3OH and NaOH. Then decant the Glycerin and Na salts.

Good God, people give stupid answers on here. NEVER mix it with gasoline, never put gasoline in a diesel engine, you will completely wreck the engine. From what I have heard you don't need to mix it with anything, you just need to filter it a few times. I know a guy that does this and he just uses the left over vegetable oil and he filters it a lot and puts it right into the car.
Alot use gasoline.I mix with diesel, and heat fuel to 140 degrees at filter then 200 degrees at injectors.

Some go with turpintine and acetone.Again gasoline is opposite from diesel.Older IDIs can handle the mix, newer computer crap diesels can't.

To do it right you need a two tank system, this rinses cylinders with diesel fuel,so veg does not gum up things.
agree with Jen...

don't give an answer if you don't know...

The process involves lye... caustic soda

it's really very simple...

anyone can do it, but they also sell fuel makers to do it for you.

there are many how-to's on the net...

here's one of them%26gt; http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_ma鈥?/a>
I'm pretty sure people just add gasoline. But then again, I am biased and against biodiesel.
I've seen it done with just filtered used veggie oil.
