I need a substitute for vegetable oil?

I am baking pancakes, and the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. I have butter, olive oil, and vegetable oil cooking spray. How can I use the ingredients that I already have to substitute the vegetable oil? Oh, before you ask, I don't have any other oils, such as sunflower or canola.I need a substitute for vegetable oil?
If the oil is for frying them on, the butter will taste the very best and give good brown edges, just watch your heat so you don't burn the butter. (if you do, wipe out the pan with a paper towel and go again)

Butter is best bet for flavor also if your mixing it in, just melt it in microwave at low power to keep it from popping out of the bowl.I need a substitute for vegetable oil?
Any of those that you have are fine. Butter will taste best, but the olive oil is fine too.

Does the oil go into the pancake batter? If so, the olive oil might be the easiest substitution. Or melt %26amp; cool the butter and stir it on in (tastier!).

If you are using it to grease the pan, use the butter or cooking spray.

If you're really worried, knock on a neighbor's door. Someone's got vegetable oil on hand and won't mind giving you some.
Butter would work best, however, olive oil would not work; it would make it taste too olivey.
Don't use anything in the batter. You will have to rub a little margarine on the surface that you use to cook the pancakes after every batch. The oil in the pancake batter would make it so you don't have to grease the pan. To ensure moisture content in the batter, use buttermilk or milk in place of the oil. I have a recipe for pancake batter that doesn't use oil. You have to separate the eggs and beat the whites to make VERY Fluffy pancakes. If you are interested, just email me for the recipe. (I got it from my Grandmother.)
you can use the olive oil if its light colored. If you use dark colored olive oil it might change the flavor. Are you using box pancake mix? If so you can just leave out the oil they will cook the same.
Use the butter then!!
go with something thats light like vegie oil. olive oil is light. is it extra virgin light? extra virgin will do just fine 2. butter is a bit heavy. lol and cooking spray is a waste of time.
Instead of oil (p.e. 3 tablespoons) you can use shortening or butter (4 tablespoons)
use the olive oil
