Is there anything I can use instead of vegetable oil?

I'm making a cake and we don't have any vegetable oil. We live right next to a Kroger, but I don't have enough money to buy some. Is there anything I can use instead of it, and if I didn't add any oil at all, would it still taste the same?Is there anything I can use instead of vegetable oil?
try using margerine or butter. Is there anything I can use instead of vegetable oil?
Butter or canoli oil are even better than Vegitable oil. Healthier. The cake would taste dry if you didn't use the oil. In some recipes, you can substitute Olive oil for butter, or other oils, but in a cake , olive oil would be too strong and heavy. Good luck!
Applesauce works great! And it makes it lower in fat content! I use it for all of my baking needs!
applesauce, or a fruit puree of some sort would work. I believe it's 1:1 as far as measurements go. The oil is there to keep the cake moist. The applesauce would add an extra flavour to the party, but you can say it adds ';depth of flavour'; :)
You can substitute apple sauce for oil. It makes it much healthier and it will taste the same.
you can use mayo ........ and it makes it moist actually taste pretty good .....just think it is oil and eggs

I've heard that applesauce works well in cakes, and is better for you.
You might try Crisco but I'm not totally sure .
margerine is vegtable oil that has been whipped with added stabilizers. If you use margarine you should be fine be sure to melt it first.
though it sounds strange, i've used mayonaise and it worked well. apple sauce also works and is fat free.
