Does anyone know HOW to substitute apple sauce for vegetable oil in recipes?

Do you use the same exact amount of applesauce as the amount of oil the recipe calls for? Any other ideas for healthier substitutions?Does anyone know HOW to substitute apple sauce for vegetable oil in recipes?
You can substitute the whole amount or just part if you want to. Be aware that using applesauce instead vegetable oil will change the consistency/density of your product. Some people prefer to only substitute 1/2 to keep the consistency closer to the original. My advice is to go by trial and error to find what you like. Try substituting all of it, if you don't like the consistency, cut back a little the next time.Does anyone know HOW to substitute apple sauce for vegetable oil in recipes?
It's the same amount the recipe asks for, to make it even heathier, then use honey instead of sugar, about 1/2 the amount on what it calls for sugar.
Yes, use the exact amount. Super easy and you really won鈥檛 be able to tell the difference! I do it all the time. Other than that- the only healthier option is an angel food cake.
Someone asked that very question the other day. The answer was ';it's the same';. In other words if the recipe calls for 1cup oil, sub 1 cup applesauce. Happy baking, Good luck.
yes you use the same amount.

and idk about other choices
I've always used a 1:1 ratio and it's worked pretty well. You can also use prune puree in the same ratio.
