Can I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil to fry doughnuts?

All I have is extra light olive oil and I want to know if it will work with the same results as vegetable oil.Can I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil to fry doughnuts?
no, to get the oil hot enough to cook the donuts it would burn..olive oil is a low temp oil, Sorry. Can I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil to fry doughnuts?
No you will burn the oil. Olive oil burns easy at high temps. ITs not a frying oil.
Nope - Sorry.
the taste will be awful anyway.....

smoking point is way to low...use lard or something neutral flavored with a high smoking point.

  1. pure olive oil (not virgin or extra virgin) smoke point is 410 degrees.. so you could try that.
