Can I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil?

I am baking a packet mix cake and it asks for vegetable oil but I only have olive oil will it still taste ok?Can I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil?

Olive oil has a completely different taste than vegetable oil and while it can be substituted in in frying and other cooking I would not use it in a cake mix. It will altar the flavor and will not taste right.
You can, but it does give a different flavor to the cake. You can definitely taste it.
