Is it safe to use vegetable oil that's a year and a half past expiration? Should I spring for a new bottle?

smell it..oil gets rancid..I would personally say toss it

oil is not that expensive and not worth a trip to the hospital for gastrointestinal problems

if you havnt had problems using it and it tastes good then use it up then.Is it safe to use vegetable oil that's a year and a half past expiration? Should I spring for a new bottle?
Since it's an oil, it generally lasts longer than other perishable items. Just keep in mind that it IS perishable. If you don't want to waste it, I suggest that you at least buy another bottle and combine the two when you cook with it... which reminds me of something else. You are cooking with it, yes? That's my assumption. It very well could be bad, and the fact that it's getting above 140 degrees F kills the nasty stuff that'd get you sick. Grab a new bottle the next time you're at the store... and erm, use it before say... 3 years from now? Hehe.Is it safe to use vegetable oil that's a year and a half past expiration? I wouldn't use it if I were you... I am sure the expiration date is there for a reason. FYI, olive oil, grape seed oil, sunflower seed oil %26amp; canola oil is better for you than ';vegetable oil.';
There is an expiration date for a reason. Spring for a new bottle.
I would say fork out the few dollars for a new bottle. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
as long as it tastes ok use it
im guessing get a new one ....instead of tring it AND LATER ON GETTING SICK ...
