How much vegetable oil to give my horse?

How much vegetable oil should I give my horse in his safe choice grain daily? Right now he gets one scoop of safe choice, selenium, vit E and hoof power. Is it good to give your horse oil or should I give him cool calories 100 instead. Also, is olive oil better then vegetable oil?? Help! How much vegetable oil to give my horse?
My choice is rice bran oil. Avoid corn oil (though we used to feed this all the time to the TBs, now research is showing it isn't the best). You can start with 1/4 cup per day, and gradually ( 1/4 cup increments over several - 4 to 7 - days for each increase) increase it up to 2 cups per day. Are you looking for more calories, or for general health and shiny coat? How much vegetable oil to give my horse?
If a human takes a multi vitamin it usually has the cheap version of the the vitamin E in it, it can trick your body into thinking it has had it's daily requirement of E and stops absorbing the other types of E from the fruits and veggies you eat. Fish oil capsules have the better E, buy some generic ones and give him a couple. Just a suggestion, not a horse expert.
Olive oil is not good. I use corn oil. Rice bran is good too but kind of pricey. With everything else he is getting, I doubt if he needs more oil but I know that corn oil will not heat them up too much if you don't overdo. I would give about a tablespoon per day in view of the vitamin E. BTW, you did not mention hay. Horses can't live on what you say your feeding by itself. Maybe that is your problem. I can't tell from what you said here.
