I was cooking and vegetable oil spattered on a red jacket of mine. The material is 100% cotton. I tried pre-treating with dish soap, and soaked in color safe bleach but it barely helped- the spatter is still visible. I washed it in cold with tide cold water soap. Is there any hope for it?How do you remove vegetable oil from clothing?
Make a paste of Dawn and Baking Soda. Apply it to the stain and let it sit overnight. Then wash as usual. How do you remove vegetable oil from clothing?
Put some DAWN dishwashing liquid on it. Let sit for about 5 10 minutes and wash in warm water not cold. I use this method on my husband's shirts all the time.
I use 409, let it sit for 10 minutes and wash..
But I have used baby power by rubbing it into the stain, then washed with dish soap..
Try natural soap or your own shampoo .
Believe it or not oven cleaner will remove any stain! I always keep a can in my laundry room. I use it on all materials. Spray the oven cleaner and let it sit a while then put it in the wash and your jacket will look band new!
For any kind of oil (vegetable, car etc) I've successfully used Sunlight dish washing soap (removes greases/oils right?!). I wet the area and apply the dish soap, and let it soak. The length of time for soaking depends on how fast I can start working on the stain and the fabric involved.- 1/2 hour to 1 day. If it can take it then I wash it in warm water, otherwise I use cold. Best of luck.
